We announced our decision this week to phase out Google Workspace services at UConn and move customers to Microsoft 365.  More information about this initiative is available at: its.uconn.edu/google-to-microsoft-365-transition.  The Google to Microsoft transition requires not only the adoption of new technology, but also the migration of data from one platform to the other.  ITS has a comprehensive plan to transfer data using a tool that converts files from Google applications into compatible formats for Microsoft 365 and then copies them to OneDrive.  There are performance limits, however, and the University has significant assets on Google.  We would like to begin quickly to meet project timelines and help ensure support resources are readily available more easily.  We are asking for assistance identifying volunteers willing to move their departmental, non-teaching files to Microsoft 365 now.  Either you or the individual can engage us by sending a migration request to techsupport@uconn.edu.
