The requirement for 2FA protection when logging in using NetID Single Sign On, into Microsoft 365, or into the computers in centrally scheduled classrooms goes into effect on November 10th. In collaboration with university partners and through many channels, we have communicated extensively to the community about this initiative so that ITS can provide assistance as needed. Our key recommendation has been for everyone to opt in early and enable 2FA at a convenient time of their choosing. As of Thursday, 30% of faculty and special payroll and 18% of students have done so. ITS is adjusting its marketing strategy to more strongly emphasize the potential experience for later adopters, but we anticipate that there will be a significant number of people who wait until the final cutover. The volume of support requests will likely be high and to accommodate, we will be extending business hours in our Technology Support Center on the 10th and adding coverage on the 12th. We are asking that you help us by encouraging early adoption and assisting with any issues that may arise.
