Forgotten passwords must be reset. The preferred and easiest way to accomplish this is to initiate the process through netid.uconn.edu using either a personal email or phone number. These must have been submitted in advance for this self-service feature to work. If alternative contacts were never set or are no longer available, individuals must contact the Technology Support Center (TSC) for direct assistance. Previously, technicians would ask a specific set of questions via phone or chat to verify identity and issue a bypass code. Unfortunately, personal information may be located and exploited by a bad actor. In response, we have made the identity verification requirement more stringent. Now if someone needs direct assistance resetting their password, they must visit the TSC in person or schedule a video appointment and present legal photo identification. This better protects our community and their information.
